FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the average cooking time for a Hog Roast?

The cooking time depends on the size of pig, it ranges from 8 to 12 hours.

What happens if it rains?

We will bring our own 4x3 metre gazebo to cover ourselves against any unwanted weather.

Do you need access to electrical power?

Yes (If the pig is being cooked on the spit) Can you please provide us with an electrical power point. Just the basic household one is fine. We will bring an extension lead so distance is not a problem. If the pig is being cooked in our hog tray, then no electric is required.

What staff do you provide?

We always supply 2 fully qualified Chefs, one to carve and the other will serve.

Typically, we cater for between 150 and 300 guests dependent on whether it is a small garden party or a larger corporate event. So more fully qualified staff will be used if required.

How long do you serve for?

As long is as necessary, we only leave when you have finished with us.

This very much depends on the type of function, but rest assured we will only leave when everyone has been fed and is totally satisfied.

Will there be enough meat to go around?

Always. We always bring a larger hog than is needed and we also bring extra buns too, so if some of your guests want to come back for seconds – no problem.

What happens to the leftovers?

Any un-served meat can be carved off and left for you if you so wish.

What about Health & Safety issues and Public Liability Insurance?

All our staff have the appropriate Food Hygiene Certificates and our company has the necessary product and public liability insurances in place. (Copies are available upon request)

How far will you travel?

We are very flexible and will try to accommodate all hog roast requests so do please ask – we are here to provide you with a very professional and helpful service.

How does payment work?

We require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking.

We will contact you at least 14 days prior to your function to discuss final numbers and precise timings and at this point the final payment then becomes due.

Do you provide an alternative to pork, for vegetarians or vegans?

Yes, we do! We are both fully qualified chefs who can cater for any dietary requirements. We offer a range of choices for both vegetarians and vegans which can be discussed upon booking.

Can you provide crockery and cutlery if required?

Yes, we can. If you decide you would like crockery and cutlery instead of our disposable option, then this can be arranged at an extra cost.
